Any Tulku (reincarnated lama) who is interested in admittance to the Loseling Monastic College must, first of all, get an audience with the Khenpo, report to the Khenpo about his admission and then obtain the Khenpo's approval. After approval from the Khenpo, if the Tulku can make offerings to the monks of Drepung Monastic University, then, during the tea prayer at the Drepung Monastic University prayer hall, the Tulku, the ex-Khenpos, the Khenpos,

the Disciplinarians and other high officials of Loseling and Gomang Monastic Colleges receive the photo of His Holiness the Dalai Lama from Gaden Phodrang – the room where His Holiness sojourns when he visits Drepung Monastic University, which is on the top of the prayer hall. Inside the prayer hall incense is burned and the musical sound of cymbals and trumpets is heard. When the photo of His Holiness is placed on the throne, the Tulku offers the mandala and the three representations of body, speech and mind of the Buddha to the photo. If the Tulku is of a high lama who has the post of owning a throne then he can be seated on his throne, otherwise he takes the first seat of the front row. Unlike other days, on this particular day, he wears the dharma robe and yellow hat and walks with the Khenpos and other high officials of the monastic colleges while receiving the material offerings.
On the same day, a debate session must be organized in the Loseling Monastic College where the Khenpo is invited to closely supervise the debate session. While reciting the memorized texts on the Collected Topics, the Tulku offers the mandala and the three representations of body, speech and mind of the Buddha to the Khenpo. Then the Tulku has to take the seat of the answerer of the debate and someone will debate with him. The debate is focused on the Collected Topics. Unlike other days, again he must wear the dharma robe and the yellow hat while praying in the prayer hall of the Loseling Monastic College. If the Tulku is of a high lama who has the post of owning a throne then he sits on his throne, otherwise he takes the seat above the seat of Lama Zhunglenpa. All the monks do extensive prayers.
After the noon tea for the assembled monks, a ceremonial function is held in his respective Khangtsen during which the Tulku is seated on a throne and all the responsible functionaries of his Khangtsen offer the mandala and the three representations of body, speech and mind of the Buddha to him. At this function all his kith and kin also offer him ceremonial scarves and offerings.
On the next day, another enthronement ceremony is held in his Khangtsen, where he invites the Khenpo, the Uchoesum, all lamas and Tulkus of the two monastic colleges and all staff members of Loseling for a grand feast. The lamas and Tulkus offer the mandala and the three representations of body, speech and mind of the Buddha to him and other invitees offer him offerings and scarves.
